Moving to Delaware

Can anyone give me any information as to what it is like in Delaware. I would like to move to Delaware and am interested in the cost of living. And nursing salaries for RN. I would also like to know which hospitals would be great to work at for a pediatric RN with 2 years experience. I know I can go to salary.com, but I would like an insiders view on the best hospitals and and living areas. Any help would be appreciated.

Check out:
Nemours.org - Alfred I duPont Hospital for Children
Some friends think this facility is even better than #1 rated CHOP in Philadlphia.
My son's ENT moved there and I LOVED him.

The best place in Sussex County is Beebe Hospital. It is close to wonderful beaches and great tax free shopping. You can choose to stay in Rehoboth beach or Lewes which ever you prefer. I do have to admit that the traffic is a problem in the summer, but besides that either one of them is a great place to stay. RN salaries are pretty decent too.

Re: Moving to Delaware

AI dupont all the way!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! you'll love it there, as it is also a great place to learn. thinks are not too expensive in de, tax free state. however, the cost of homes seem to be steadily increasing as more people move in. other than that, nice place to raise a family.
"welcome to delaware small wonder"..............hope u like the beach

Re: Moving to Delaware

I don't think you would really want to commute from Dover to Beebe in the summer. Beach traffic can be hellish. Still, Lewis and Beebe are at the START of the resort strip and you could pull it off....commute would be probably 30 minutes to an hour, depending on weekends or holidays.
