Hi you need to take the NLN as soon as possible. You can check when the next one is on the college website. The whole process for the nursing program has changed, because of so many applicants. At the Terry campus you need to have Composition,A&P1,A&P2( a B in both classes) clinical math (DONE)also at least a B and then you can apply. You must apply each semester there is no longer a waiting list. You really need to talk to a nursing advisor.I ended up applying for LPN even though I have all my classes for RN done because of the competition for clinical seats.I got tired of waiting, then I'll apply for the Advanced placement RN program. It's a very tough program,so be ready!!!Lots of luck to you!!!

forgive me if I'm wrong but I assumed the NLN was the pre-admissions test deltech has applicants take? I was also looking at taking classes at the Stanton campus, so maybe the procedure is also different there, because after talking to a counselor I assumed we take the pre-admission test after completing the pre-req classes and not before it. I didn't ask to specify, but there will be an upcoming nursing major info session in July I'll attend that will clear things up. I wanted to ask here for deadlines because the counselor told me that on Stanton at least, they review applicants for enrollment once a year every spring only, and I really want to get in then...but if Terry campus accepts applicants twice a year I'll definitely look into it. thanks so much for replying to my question. I really hope I'll be up to it!!

Hi I know it's very confusing the way they work the admissions process. But you can take the NLN anytime it's offered I think you just need chemistry. You need to go on the DelTech website and hit programs then hit nursing and a special website for the nursing program will come up on there the schedule for the NLN will be posted.I urge you to take this as soon as possible because you need this to be eligible to even apply for the nursing program at all.The Terry campus accepts students twice a year,in August and Jan.The August clinicals are already full and I think the Jan. applications are due by August 22nd or 23rd.You can apply if you have all your pre req. done or if you have them scheduled for the Fall semester and pass them.Like I said it is very confusing, and they keep changing the rules.Good luck you can do it!!!!

Re: DTCC Student

The Pre-admission test is completely different than the NLN. You will take the Pre-admission test immediately after you apply to the college, that is what determines which pre-requisites you are placed in. The NLN depends on the campus, but I do believe you can take it whenever you want at any campus (I have attended 3 out of 4 of the campuses). At the Stanton Campus your NLN score gives you points. All of your pre-reqs also give you points and you are placed by a ranking system. Obviously people with higher points will be placed first. This is how it was last time I checked, but as the other poster said things change frequently.

Visit the website and attend that meeting. Do not be a minute late because they will not let you in.

Goodluck!
