Re: Nursing Salary

Waterbury Hospital starts at $56,264 for 40/hr week positions. Hourly diffs: eve 2.80, noc 3.25, weekend 4.00. They also give you 12 paid holidays including your b-day, and time an a half on holidays besides christmas and thanksgiving, you get double time for them. You also get double time for the second shift if you work a double.

Sounded great to me, but just too far of a commute.

$56,264/52 wks= $1.082/ 40hrs=$ 27.05 am I correct???, if you add the $27.05 + Eve Diff, $2.08= $ 29.12 per hr X 40hrs= $1164.8 x 52wks= $60,569.5yearly salary, am I correct??? is this the right amount of salary a New Graduate Nurse Make in Watebury Hospital, if not can you correct me.

This is the info I got in writing from HR at the hospital, so I'm pretty sure it is correct. But your equation uses the wrong amt for eve diff, it's supposed to be 2.80 not 2.08. So here is what I got for your same equation.
56264/52=1082 1082/40=27.05 2705+2.80=29.85 29.85*40=1194
1194*52=62088

$62,088 yearly salary. Plus you'll be working probably EOW and EOH so that's a tad bit more. And then they tax the hell out of you so you bring home about $40,000/yr. Minus health and dental insurance, minus whatever you put ito retirement, etc etc.

Smile Re: Nursing Salary

actually, it varies....if you work through an agency your rate is usually higher. A RN gets paid anywhere from 32-50 an hour depending on the assignment
