I bet you it's a painful amount... any replies will be very welcome. Also, how is it living in Hartford area? are there jobs to be had (LPN)? I was looking online and seems like rent is a bit steep...can you live comfortably on your pay without having to live check to check?

Hello, I know your thread is older but, can you elaborate on the "charge nurse @ ltc rehab"...what does this mean & are you in charge of the floor, aids or both?
Also, are you familiar w/ Masonic Hospital?
Just wondering what they start new grads out w/ oin Rehab or ltc.
I appreciate all your help!

From my experience, it varies on whether or not you go through an agency. I joined the agency Maxim 2 years ago and actually make a significant amount more than i did when i was just working at the facility. I have benefits and the same amount of flexibility too.

Re: LTC Salaries for a LPN in CT

I think pay depends on alot of things, mainly experience and the shift that you decide to take. Also the location you decide to work in. I am sure you'll get paid more for working a night or evening shift versus a day shift. Julesar is right too, you can get paid more working for an agency than a facility. I haven't worked for an agency as a nurse yet, but I have as a CNA. When I contracted with the agency to go to a certain facility that later hired me as regular staff, I was getting paid more working for the agency, a whole $3.00 more for the same work.

Re: LTC Salaries for a LPN in CT

I Do Know In Montgomery Alabama In Correctional Nursing The Pay Is 22.00/hr With Benefits. In the hospital 25.00/hr without Benefits. In New Orleans It Is 26.49/hr For Days And 29.49/hr For Nights Without Benefits For Lpns At The Hospital

What hospital is that in New Orleans? Do you have to have a year experience to get paid that much? What do they pay you fresh out of school? I live in Metairie.
