Hello all Connecticans

I am having a dilemma. I have been accepted to both Bridgeport Hospital's nursing program and Norwalk Comm. College program and I am having such a hard time deciding which one to go with. I had previously chosen Bridgeport Hospital as my first choice because among other things their program is so hands-on (clinicals are on the real hospital floor the first week). But as I have spoken to other students I am hearing that NCC may be the better program. I went to the respective open houses for each school and received tons of information. I don't know which to choose. Anyone have any information that would help me pick one.

I go to BHSN and love it. You get twice as much clinical time then the state requires. The instructors are very helpful and seem to not want anyone to fail. They usually offer a program where if you work for Bridgeport Hospital for 2 years then they will pay for your schooling.

It is a diploma program not Associates degree, if that matters to you. I know Housatonic has a program in which if you take your prerequisite classes there they will let you get an Associates in Nursing once you pass the NCLEX.

It is a good school with great NCLEX passing rates. Not sure of NCC - check into it.

I would go to Bridgeport Hospital instead, I heard their passing rate is high.

NCC offers associate degree. I think it plays an important role. I know, that the BSN programm that I'm planning to get into after I finish my RN requires Ass. degree. So, if you plan to continue your education, you better check if diploma works for you.

i've heard great things about ncc, i've heard a lot of mixed reviews about bhsn. if i were in your position i'd go to ncc,they do have an associates degree and i'm sure you'll get just as good clinical experience as at bhsn. let us know what you decide!
