I went to a job fair today at Invesco field with the plan of talking to the VA recruiter. I would like to pursue employment at the Denver VA hospital this coming Fall. I have active acute-care employment, with ACLS. What is the best way to go about working there? Clean license, clean background, licensed as RN since 1980. I came home with an application but don't want to start the process until I am ready to accept an offer. Any insight?

Yikes, I appreciate those of you that have read my thread. Anyone out there have any ideas on how to get hired on to the VA? I would appreciate any input!

Talk to HR. Most V.A.'s now require new employees to complete Vetpro, which is a computer application that lists all of your jobs and addresses. It is time consuming, so call the V.A. and get the codes you need to start the program. I think you have to fill out the regular job application also for most or all V.A.'s/
