Nursing Specialties, How to decide?

Hi All,

I'm having a little trouble deciding what type of nursing that I want to do. Does anyone know where I can find a quiz to take that would help me decide? What specialties are in need of the most help in CO?

Thanks

Re: Nursing Specialties, How to decide?

Personally, I tried to get as broad a range of clinical experiences as I could in order to help me decide what type of nursing I wanted to do. The minute I walked into the OR, I knew that was it for me. Some of my classmates, however, still haven't found their niche.

IMHO, choosing your nursing path based on the current "hot" specialty isn't really the way to go. You might be able to get a job easily, but you also might hate the work. I think it's much more important to find your nursing passion and let the opportunities come to you. However, other people see things differently.

Good luck to you!
