My husband and I have thrown around the idea of relocating to Denver. I am interested to know good hospitals there and in the surrounding areas. Also, I work for healthsouth, is there an Inpatient facility there and if so, how is it? Do any of the hospitals hire LPNs? I ask bc here in MO our University hospital only hires in clinics or if you are enrolled for RN. Where I work, LPNs are of great use and we get to do it all (with in our scope). I'd love some recommendations for facilities. I am interested in hospitals and rehab centers (physical medicine). What areas do you suggest to stay away from (like when I lived in NV, stay away from North Las Vegas). Are there set shifts? (12's, 8's, eow etc... ) and how about pay? I make 13.65 and am a new grad, my facility pays the highest in our town-plus shift diff and weekend shift diff. The other hospitals pay around 10-11/hr for new grads. I do have years of tech/nurse aid experience which has helped.

Try a google search of Health South Denver and you will get at least three address in Denver. The benefit of that is you would be able to maintain you seniority (hopefully).

As for LPN in the area, I really do not know; hopefully, and LPN can give you first hand experience. You can also read the Denver post online. Again, a google search of Denver Post should reveal the newspaper on line. Go to Classifieds etc... You might want to look into Craig Hospital as they do have an excellent reputation for Rehab services (I have worked there as an Agency Nurse.) I remember seeing LPN's frequently.

I would stay away from HCA or Health One facilities. Just my HO (humble opinion).

Denver weather is wicked cold at varying times during the winter. There are occasional dangerous icy driving conditions. I go there, from the Western Slope, several times a year. I have an excellent 4 wheel drive. There is a reason you see so many SUV's on the road in Denver and Colorado.

You can work at Denver Health medical center as an LPN and St Joes which is an exempla hospital. those are pretty much the only hospitals in denver. if you want clinics try Kaiser great insurance
