Smile L&D RN moving to Colorado Springs

Hi,

I just found out this week that we will be moving to Colorado Springs at the begining of next year. I currently work high risk L&D and want to stay in that field. I am looking for any advise or suggestions on where to work, pay scale, job availability etc. I will be contacting some of the hospitals in the next month or so but wanted some feedback from people actually working in the area. I live in NM now, I have been to the springs and have a basic feel for the town, but I need some job advise. This will be the first time I have to change jobs an as RN, so I am a little nervous.

Thanks in advance!

Did you ever get any private responses to this question? I am curious also. I do high risk L&D and am wanting some opinions.

You have been my only response. I have had no luck. I am in the process of putting together my resume to send out since I have no reponses from the e-mail's I sent the hospitals. If you have any luck please let me know.

Re: L&D RN moving to Colorado Springs

Ok, somehow my last post to you didn't go through.

I've been doing some internet research and don't see many L&D jobs advertised in or around the Springs. There are several PP jobs. I guess if we found a hospital that we liked it would be a place to start. I hate to settle just b/c it's one of the few advertising the job.

I really hope for some insider information. Maybe if I just keep bumping it the right person will see it!

Good luck. BTW, their newspaper is gazette.com if you haven't found that yet.

I lived in CS for 12 years and worked as an NNP at Memorial. They have a level 3 nursery and can compete with Denver. Also in town is Penrose Hospital. They started a level 3 in the early 90s. Both use NNPs for 24 hour coverage plus a group of neos.
