Re: Denver School of Nursing

Hi everyone,

I'm also from California and considering DSON. For all those who have been accepted for the Oct '08 program, when did you start applying?

I have applied to a private school in LA, but I would like a Plan B... and if it means moving to Denver, so be it!

Thanks.

Re: Denver School of Nursing

does the U of CO hospital hire DSoN grads? On DSoN's website it doesn't list them in the "where our graduates work" section.

Re: Denver School of Nursing

cu's hospital does not hire dsn grads at present. cu says it is because dsn is not currently accredited (even though every other hospital in denver, including the level one trauma centers, hire our grads), but we have been told that it is a political issue, since some of the dsn administration were former administration members at cu who left when dsn opened.

I kinda figured it was something to do with politics. I was told by a CU employee to look into the accrediation issue b/c she wasn't sure if they hired DSN grads. I guess they will just have to miss out on some good nurses then.

Re: Denver School of Nursing

btw, have you had luck with Denver Health regarding new grad jobs? Are they considered the premiere trauma center in Denver? Thanks so much for answering all my questions!

Re: Denver School of Nursing

Yes, I have ANOTHER question.
What have students done as far as health insurance goes?
