That is great you liked the school. I have heard good things. Think I should cancel my appointment though. If I need a cosigner or two for the loan, there is no way I can get it . I don't know anyone with good credit that would do that for me. As for asking my grandma, they are both dead. And we live paycheck to paycheck, so forking over that much up front and every month is not a possibility. Looks like I am going to be on the waitlists for a long time, I can never afford these other schools.

That's the way he made it seem regarding the Sallie Mae Loan. He gave me a statistic that I cant exactly remember regarding the percentage of people that pay as they go compared to people that get the Sallie Mae Loan. I believe it was something like 70% pay, 30% get the loan. You should contact him however just to make sure. I picked up a brochure on the loan itself and here's some interesting tidbits:

You can apply for a Career Training Loan online at www.salliemae.com/ctl and get a credit decision usually in less than a minute.

Actually I was going to type out the whole thing but it is a bit time consuming. If anyone is interested I can make a copy of the brochure and fax it to you.

That's the one I applied for. With a cosigner I received $40k. I probably won't use all of it but it's nice to know it's there if I need to.

Re: Denver School of Nursing

Hi Everybody,

I am on the wait list for the July class at DSN. I have been accepted into two other schools here in Washington State. The decision to go to DSN was a really hard one. This website made my decision for me, I can't believe all of the positive feedback I hear about this school. I am so tired of year long waiting lists and miles of recommendation letters, essays etc..I just want to get going on this! Thanks to everyone who has taken the time to post information here. I like the straight forward up front approach that DSN takes....you understand what the process is right from the start.

I am in my last quarter of pre-reqs (micro) and then will be waiting to see if I get in, ...If I do....I will then get to find a house to rent AND move to Denver in a three week window! Should be challenging for sure! I am worried about the first quarter a bit...sounds like it's the hardest of all....

Good luck to you! I agree the feedback about this school is amazing, I have not heard anything negative about it. I'm so excited to get started there!!

Jordanpa,

I am excited to see that someone else from Washington is going to DSN. I am also from Washington. I got accepted for the July BSN class and will be moving to Denver in June. I hope you will get in, and maybe we will be classmates.
Good luck with your micro class.

Sounds like you're in but someone didn't check their merge variables before sending letters out

Salsaking:

Which day (and time) did you tour DSN? The reason that I ask is that you may have come through my lab during your tour
