Already Chevron Oil has an ad against Prop 89 calling nurses a special interest! They and other multi billion dollar corporations have given him millions. How can he not do their bidding when he will not meet with staff nurses and the people he is supposed to work for? -

We need to enforce the laws against employing people who are here illegally.
They are sometimes paid less than required by law and are afraid to report health and safety violations.
It is insulting to hear politicians claim there is work Americans won't do.
I just heard about those Chevron ads from a friend back in the bay. UNBELIEVABLE. Why any person would support him with this kind of backing is beside me. I would rather go back to the Grey Davis days than have to deal with Arnie again. That should have never happened to Davis in the first place.

Re: Voting for Arnold?

If a politician doesn't come out strongly against illegal immigration, s/he's more likely to get more of the Hispanic vote, which, in this state, would definitely affect the outcome!

The thing about driver's licenses is that, when you apply for a job, you're required to show 2 documents saying you're a legal resident. One of them on the list is your driver's license.

Arnold has been very well behaved lately, and I do think the state is in better shape overall since he took office. But I believe he will be re-elected, and will promptly turn into a complete and total jerk again. Phil Angelides is just too darn lame.

Francine Busby ran in Duke Cunningham's old district--you remember, he's in prison!!. That district is soooo Republican. I haven't heard anywhere near the amount of political ads from her or her opponent as when they had the election to complete Cunningham's term. Phew--that was awful. It was so deep that time, both opponents eyes turned brown.

Re: Voting for Arnold?

The California Nurses Association IS a special interest group and there is nothing wrong with that. Just pointing it out is not wrong either and no one meant every single solitary nurse is a special interest group. I'm not a member of any group so I'm not a special interest group.

I do think we should be allowed to organize and lobby politicians though.

And I don't believe in Prop. 89 which is simply welfare for those politicians, coming straight out of my paycheck in the form of another tax.

She has a really good chance of winning this time. It used to be that Democrat challengers were primarily for show; no one expected them to do well, and they didn't.
