Having lived in San Jose all of my 21 years, I was hoping to transfer to a UC after attending De Anza/Foothill, but in the midst of finishing my GE, I realized nursing was the profession for me and applied for SJSU (have been accepted, but have yet to apply for the school of nursing). It's only a 10 minute drive from the Evergreen area and I no longer have to endure the 1+ hour drive during peak traffic to Cupertino/Los Altos.
I have heard from many mouths that SJSU has a great nursing program (people say the administration is infamous for losing paperwork though), but have yet to speak to someone who have graduated from there. I am open to any information/personal experiences (could be non-nursing related) you have with the school.

I am currently going through the nursing program at SJSU and believe it to be a fantastic program. I know they did have a dip in the passing of the NCLEX and now require students to use ATI as we go through the program to make sure we are not falling behind in any area.
I am currently one of the last students going through the accelerated program, we are graduating next December, and I'm sure the regular program isn't as insane. good luck!!

I graduated from there a little over a year ago. You can PM for specific questions but overall I say that they have a good program, much more theoretically based versus clinical skills. But don't worry about that because you can always learn skills on the job.

Hello,
I live in San Jose also, i am going to graduate end of this year from Community college of San Francisco Nursing program. Yes, i been driving everyday to school. I tried to apply to SJSU a while ago, but didnt get accepted, so as Evergreen, but i got accept in CCSF. My advice is apply to other schools too instead of waiting for SJSU because it might take more than 2 years for you to get accept into their program(unless u got lucky). Community RN program are great too! I love it. My bro is currently in Evergreen nursing program 1st semester. if u have any questions about community RN program, feel free to ask me. remember time is $$$
