Hi,
I just wanted to see if there was anyone out there attending Maric currently and how do they like it? I have read serveral posts saying that its worth it but the cost is bad . I am applying for the March 2008 start and before i invest that kinda of money i just really would like feedback from RN's or anyone that is a current student. I took my cna at Maric, and I considered the RN. Ultimately I decided to go with a different program because I could not see spending 50k on an associates degree that didnt transfer. I applied to national university instead. Its about 34 for a fully accredited bachelors degree there.

Anyway, Maric is not a bad school. It seems to me that everyone that talks badly about it has never gone there and are just spreading rumors that they heard. Im not sure why the aren't fully accredited, but my admissions rep told me they are working on it. I have heard great things about their nurses and their program is the same as the community colleges. The only place I know of that the degree transfers is University of Phoenix, which IS fully accredited and transferrable. You can get a BSN or MSN there. But that will run you another 12k a year.

Anyway, long answer to your question:Maric is a good school and a great way to get done quickly if you don't mind the cost and the limited transferability. I know the nursing lab at the San Diego Campus is absolutely amazing! They just spent millions upgrading it and it is one of only 5 in the country that are so progressive. They have sim patients that give birth, vomit, display disease states, talk to you...anything you can imagine. It's pretty awesome to see. Im rambling. Hope this helps!! Good luck.

Wow ty so much for all the info lol....I know it does suck the credits only transfer to some schools and the costs is high but you figure its easy to pay off once you get started working and stuff. Well Ty again and good luck to you.

I'm now in my 3rd quarter in the RN program at Maric in SD. I'm very happy with my decision. I know it's hard to read all the opinions re: Maric. It's been great for me so far. The program is very accelerated, you have to be willing to put in the time, but it's worth it. Good luck with your decision. If you have any specific questions just ask!

I am in my 5th month at Maric doing the LVN program, and I have to say that its a really really good school. The comp. lab is up to date, and the teachers are really chill and nice. The work is not that bad, just as long as you have time to study and have the commitment, since you are paying a lot for the program. But the one thing that I have to say is that, the stuff on the stairs taste icky. Also I am a hot asian chick and please come to maric so we can hook up sometimes

SDRN2BN09 - Are their units xferable? Is there a wait list? Is it still their policy for you to have prev med experience?

I actually just got accepted at Maric College and I'm to start on September 15th. I was just wondering if it's possible for someone to do this program and still work? Does anybody out there know for sure what time the classes start every day and when it ends? How about clinical hours? I really need some insight on the possibility of working and going to school. I'm currently working as an LVN full time on PM shifts. Right now, it seems like I can only work during the weekends when school starts and I just don't know if I can afford that with bills and all. Anyone out there on the same situation?

Hi, I'm attending Maric right now. I don't think there is anyway you will be able to keep your current work schedule. The pace is very accelerated. Most people don't have jobs, but the ones I know are working like once a wk or even once a month! (I mean for the nursing portion of the program, not all the pre-req's). I know it's scary to change your finances. Also as far as the schedule goes, it changes all the time. I think it's part of their "flexiblity" thing. It can be frustrating, but you get used to it. did you got accepted in the program right away or you waited? i'm trying to get in to the program that will start Jan 2009. Just want to ask info.
