I was also wondering how strict they are on their religious beliefs.

Hi! Good luck to you. I'm moving this out of Introductions to the California portion of our board so you can hone in on locals who might be able to answer your question. Good luck.
I went to a 7th Day Adventist school for my RN to BSN program. While they taught from a Christian perspective they weren't "strict" about it.

I attended the School of Public Health (SPH) at LLU and I think this policy applied across the board. Students from all schools (Medicine, Dentistry, Nursing, etc.) were required to attend chapel once a week (it was only an hour in the morning). They don't impose any religion on you either, but because they're 7th Day Adventists, there is no caffeine, energy drinks, or meat in any of the campus eating establishments.
For the SPH, I also had to take one religion class as part of the requirement to graduate. I took an ethics class which counted toward the requirement. I didn't think it was heavily religious at all. I don't know if this policy applies to the School of Nursing though, so you might want to check their catalog or contact their admissions office.

To Jackie345 I have a good feeling that you'll get into their program. Unfortunately, my GPA isn't that great. But, I have hope so i'm going to continue my application for Spring 09. And do you have your LVN license?
P.S. Let me know if you hear good news.. please =)

Hi.
I am a nursing student at LLU awaiting my senior year come the Fall 2008 quarter. You should be just fine with that GPA as long as your two entrance exams were acceptable and had a "smiley" interview.
I had no idea what an SDA was when I applied to LLU's program. I just know LLU had a great rep for its teaching.
Some of the staff are hardcore head-to-toe covered up Christians but most of them are accepting to everyone.
I was accepted at a local community college (one of whom had a better NCLEX pass rate) but decided on LLu because there is a warmth and compassion that is genuine. During finals, for example, the staff cooks breakfast for everyone. During my last quarter, our OB teacher brought homemade baked goods for EVERY class meeting. They hug you and absolutely care here!
I hope you make it in. It's expensive and and I'm up to my ears in loans but the experience here is wonderful!
P.S. I'm a Pharmacology tutor here so maybe I'll see you in one of my groups.
GOOD LUCK
