Re: grossmont college waiting list

I received one last week, too. I already took the TEAS so I'm waiting to hear from them after May 1st. I have been waiting (and waiting) since Jan 2006.

The passing score for the TEAS is 67%. The information is on the student handbook, which can be found on the nursing dept. website.
http://www.grossmont.edu/nursing/stu...dentHB0708.pdf
The info is on page 21.

I bought the study guide and I feel that it helped.

Hi there. I also just got my letter to take the TEAs but my letter said that passing does NOT guarantee me a spot on either the fall 08 or spring 09 sections.
I've been on the waiting list since Aug 06.

that's exactly what my letter said last spring & i ended up by getting into the program last fall. i think they kind of say that just to hedge their bets just in case. GOOD LUCK!!

Re: grossmont college waiting list

I just got my letter today stating that I have been placed on the waitlist at Grossmont as of 4/18/2008 and that the wait is approximately 3 to 4 years OR MORE!!!

WOW!! I was even told verbally by staff yesterday that the wait was 2-3. This is scary. Now I really hope to get into National...

Re: grossmont college waiting list

I go to grossmont, GO TO MERIC, its not worth waiting the 3-4 years, you could graduate from one of the private schools in less than 2, pay back your loans and be making money by the time grossmont calls you, thats just my opinion. grossmont is a good school, good teachers, but a nurse is a nurse. alot of our instructors went to meric themselves, that ought to tell you something.

Re: grossmont college waiting list

You can't transfer to a four year university if you went to Meric. None of my teachers (Grossmont program) have Meric degrees.

I don't think you can get a masters through Meric and you need a masters to teach theory.

Re: grossmont college waiting list

well, FYI, you CAN petition for BSN. Meric nurses also have alternative options such as National, University of Pheonix, and others. Look, I am graduating from Grossmont this year and I know I have instructors (theory and clinical) who went to MERIC who now have their BSN, and/or masters degrees.

If you can afford to wait to go to grossmont, by all means do. But if you are like alot of people who have families to support go to whatever school will get you there fast, Concorde offers an LVN program then the LVN to RN stepup. I get sick of hearing grossmont, sdsu, city college student, bag on MERIC college. WE ALL TAKE THE SAME BOARDS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
