City college of SF Lottery-How long does it take to get in?

Hi all,
I am wondering if anyone else has either been selected in the city college of sf lottery, or may know about how long it takes to get in.

I have been in the lottery since December 2006 and am wondering how long it takes to get in.

Any info. would be great!

Thanks!

It's really all about luck. The way I understand it, you have to keep letting them know to put your application in for the next start date and then you are mixed in with everyone else that applied. You just have to pray your number gets picked. I tried getting into the LVN program and was number 44 (they had 40 spots). I didn't have time to wait and try to get in for the next semester so I went the private route. My sister was picked as alternate for the RN program on her first try and got in because someone dropped.

Yeah they start fresh each time so your chances don't increase each time you apply. It is completely by luck of the draw. I applied to many city colleges with lottery systems including SF city. I didn't get in to any of them. I didn't have patience for that so I chose to go the BSN route where you can guarantee your spot by GPA.

Hi I am in the first semester at ccsf and i am having a blast! It took me a year to get in. Hang in there! Don't give up, it is definetly worth the wait! Good luck! CCSF is one the top if not the best nursing program in sf!

Actually City College puts in your name twice for your second application, three times for your third application, and so on Mama2008, but for some people it still takes years...
