Wink Question - Bakersfield College

Anyone currently going to Bakersfield College? I am going back to school and was wondering if anyone has any thoughts on the Rn program there. I have about 1 more year of prereq's. I would appreciate any info.

Thanks

Re: Bakersfield College

Mostly, were you able to get into the program soon after you finished you prereq's or did you have to wait a semester or so? Also, do you know what the starting salary is for a new Rn, like for Mercy or Memorial?
Thanks!

Re: Bakersfield College

Mostly, how long did you have to wait to get accepted into the program? Also, do you happen to know the pay scale for a new Rn like at Mercy or Memorial? My friend graduated in 2003 and said she would be getting $23 at Memorial.
Thanks

Re: Bakersfield College

They wouldn't accept me while I was in progress, so I had to wait out 1 semester while I was applying. It wasn't too bad because I took medical terminology and a couple other classes that were "recommended". I got accepted my first time so it wasn't too long of a wait.

I don't know the payscale exactly, I have heard through the grapvine that its around $25 an hour(with 10% differentials for nights and weekends). I can tell you more come January, I plan to work at Mercy Southwest.
