Anybody work for L.A. County?

Any of you members work for L.A. County? If so, can you give me some info on what the civil service interview consists of?

Thanks.

Re: Anybody work for L.A. County?

It is a normal interview for the department in which you want to work. It is called "civil service" interview because working at a county facility in an underserved area and is considered "civil service." But it's just your normal interview - they ask you questions pertinent to the position you are hiring for - most times by a panel (manager, supervisor, staff nurse), that's how mine went anyway.
hope that helps.

Re: Anybody work for L.A. County?

Prior to the interview you take a drug calc test. At our facility you are interviewed by a couple of random nurse managers with questions generally pertaining to delegation and decision making. Unless your answers are crazy i.e the doc orders 10 times a normal dose and you'll give it cause he says to, you'll get a second unit specific interview with a nurse manager who is actually interested in hiring you. As for the civil service part, we're county so after your 6 month probation it's really hard to fire you unless you're dangerous!!!!! Good luck!
