I think you'll get plenty of feedback here.. but the main question is.. what would YOU want to do?
If it's what YOU want and feel it would benefit you, by all means go for it !
Well, I finally made up my mind. I went back to school a few months after I received my Lpn license. I now only have three more classes to finish before I can start my RN. So hopefully, this time next year I will be posting in here that I made it to the RN program. I am still working in LTC and I love it! I worked as a CNA for 10 years before becoming a LPN. Now I love being able to provide more care to my residents then I could before as an CNA. Right now I am looking to go into Restorative Nursing when I finally become a RN. I always thought that I wanted to go into being a trauma/ER nurse, but I feel my heart is in geriatrics. It is such an HONOR to take care of our elderly. I always feel a sense of accomplishment and pride when I can help an elderly person ease their pain, or help them to accomplish even the littlest effort to help themselves. Well thanks for letting me ramble on. Take Care. Peace love and harmony.

Hi! I just joined allnurses today. I am in school right now working on my RN degree. I'm still getting my pre requisites. I only lack 3 semester in order to have a BS in business. However, I dropped out of school to get married and then had children. I've been a stay at home mom ever since. Now, my children will both be in kindergarten next year. So, here I am, going back to school for nursing! I just don't want to do business anymore and nursing is what I really feel called to do. I have no clue what area I want to go in to. Hopefully, I'll know when the time comes. Just wanted to say hi to everyone...and give my life story.

Hey Everyone!!!
I'm not in AR yet but tomorrow I will be moving there. So I will introduce myself anyway.
Miss Priss from CA. I am a nursing hopeful with a lot of pre-reqs to complete. I hope to enjoy living in AR for a while. I don't know if I want to get a B.A. degree then pursue BSN or if I want to go straight BSN. But that's me...always contemplating.

Hello,
I'm from west central Arkansas (Mena). Been out of nursing for a long time, am now ready to go back. I'm really interested in Home Health, anyone know an approximate pay scale in that field? I've had my license for 25 years. I just found this site today & am thrilled to have found it. Thank you all in advance for your replies.

Hi Kandee,
I share you excitement of working with the elderly. They have so much to offer us and a lot of times we toss them aside like trash. The hold our past in their hands, their hearts and their minds. Here is a challange for you guys who have grandparents give them a call and listen to the remember the past while you still can.
I am so happy that you have decided to do Nursing. I personally think that nuses who started off as cna's are more understanoing to other staff, because you have done all other jobs and are not afraid to get down and dirty if you need to it is like second nature to us. But we do run into the problem of trying to do it all ourselves. I was a cna for about 2 years and I was sure I loved it but wanted more. I became a lpn for a few years then graduated from the Associate Nursing Rn program( December, passed boards in March) and I loved being a LPN and now love being Rn, the pay is much better and my role silghtly changes in the hospital but not enough to make me crazy. You earn a new respect for Nursing when you start school, it is so much more than I ever thought when I was a CNA and each level you realized that more and more.
I am glad that I got this post from you, I forgot about this site,we did this as an assignment in class, I think I will post at least once a week.
I lOVE Nursing! God Bless You all
