Re: moving to arkansas hoping for some info

I am from that area, grew up there but currently live in kentucky. You will
love it! Its a very beautiful place. There is one hospital in heber- baptist medical center. Very small but they are in the process of building a new one. I would consider working at white county med. center in searcy, ar. Its a good hospital and i worked there several years ago. Its about a 45 min
drive. Hope this is helpful.

Re: moving to arkansas hoping for some info

I actually worked with a nurse who drove from Heber Springs into North Little Rock to work. It's about an hour drive. But she had limited opportunities in the Heber Springs area. I'm an LPN and make a little over $15 an hour at a Pediatric Clinic in Cabot, Arkansas. So I can't really say much on payscale for you. But I'm guessing when you're a new grad RN, probably in the $20 an hour range. But your husband has plenty experience and will make more. Arkansas is kind of low on the payscale range. I've been an LPN for a little over 10 years and started out of school at $8.21 an hour in a hospital. I think the new grad RN's were starting out at $12 or $13 back then. Wish I could help more but best of luck!

Re: moving to arkansas hoping for some info

I recently moved to White County and make $6 more per hour than I made in western Nebraska. With 32 years experience, I started at $27 per hour. I was quoted $22 for a LTC position (still higher than western NE)

Don't have anything helpful to add, just thought I'd mention my sister lives in Heber Springs, right close to Greer's Ferry Lake. You can see one of the inlets from her house. I've been there and it is a pretty area, but small town for sure.
