Little Rock area Nurse with Questions (and maybe some answers)

Hi, I'm a new nurse who has some questions about employment availability. I graduated from UCA a little while back, and haven't had much luck finding a good job. It seems that everyone wants a year's experience, you know that old tune. Anyway, I'm just introducing myself here too, and wanted to say that I'd also be happy to answer any questions anyone has, maybe about U.C.A.'s nursing program, or whatever. This seems like a cool forum for nurses, I'm glad I found it.

Re: Little Rock area Nurse with Questions (and maybe some answers)

Nice to meet you!!!

I'm suprised to hear about LR employers as we had at least 2 travel 6 hours to our school and try and actively recruit us for new grad jobs and I live and graduated NS in Missouri. Both had extensive new grad programs with lots of orientation, class time, etc... These were GN jobs - just for new grads with no experience.

What type of nursing are you interested in? Check out the UAMS website. They list lots of jobs for new grads, and if you're interested in continuing education the bennies can't be beat. If nothing else, it would be a place to gain that year of experience everyone else wants.
