Bradley County Area questions

We may be moving to Warren, Ak. I am an RN currently working a NICU II in SC. The hospitals near Warren are listed as: Bradley County Medical, Drew Memorial, dallas County Medical, Ashley County medical.

Can any tell me anything about these or any others in and around Warren. Such info as pay, benefits, NICU units, etc.

Hello, kararn,

All of these hospitals except for Ashley County are older facilities.

The hospital in Fordyce (Dallas County) does zero OB and therefore, has no nursery.

Drew Memorial (Monticello, AR) has a rather new OB unit, but is well-baby only.

Ashley County (Crossett, AR) is a new hospital, but has a well-baby nursery.

Bradley County (Warren, AR) is a Critical Access hospital with a well-baby nursery.

These facilities fly out their sick newborns to Little Rock to Childrens Hospital, Baptist Med Center or UAMS.

I can only tell you what the pay was 6 years ago when I started. Brand new outta school M/S floor $12. per hour. After transferring to ED, my pay went to 12.35 an hour. Surely the pay has increased to be comparable to the rest of the facilities in the area. I worked in El Dorado

Re: Bradley County Area questions

I don't know what the RN pay would be, I am a recent LPN graduate and I will be working in Pine Bluff.....just wanted to let you know that is an option for employment also even though it would be a 45 minute drive. In addition there are hospitals in Dumas (Desha County Memorial) and McGhee. I live in Monticello and can offer other information about the area if you'd like.

Hello, cygni519. Pine Bluff? I think you will enjoy Jefferson Regional Medical Center. Good institution. Busiest ED in the state, too.

Re: Bradley County Area questions

Hi Siri,

Thanks, I am looking forward to working there, start Orientation on Monday and I will be working on the Ortho / Urology Med Surg floor. The experience will be great I think. And my study buddy from school will be working same shift, one floor above on a "true" Med Surg floor. I am looking forward to getting to work and may look into transfer to another floor after a year or so to get other experience in the hospital. Since the hospitals here (Warren, Monticello, Crossett) ship to Pine Bluff or Little Rock, I am looking forward to the opportunity I have at JRMC. Just dreading the drive....LOL
