RN wages in Arkansas

I too am wondering about wages in Arkansas. We moved from there ten years ago and they were low at that time. Since elderly parents are still there, we are thinking of returning, especially since Slick Willy is out of the picture!

I'm sure it depends on what part of the state you're in. I work in LTC in NE ARK and my starting pay last year was about $10.00. Currently, I'm at 11.15 per hour. Doesn't sound that great, huh? And to top it off there are no health/life/dental insurance.

I am in NW AR and I think it is about 14-36$ depending on where you work ect. i know that the hosp I work at is at the low end of that scale but RNs in L/D at another hosp about 30 miles away is paying 36 starting pay.

Hi,
Just thought I'd say Hello. It's hard to find Arkansas Nurses and Students on the board and its seems we're in "the same neck of the woods". I'm currently second semester at Arkansas Northeastern College(good ole MCCC). Maybe we could personal message sometime in the future.

I have worked in Jonesboro in NE Arkansas and in North Little Rock. As an RN my pay when I left Little Rock was roughly 22-23 dollars and hour working night shift. In Jonesboro it was about 5 dollars less but I have heard they recently got a $2 an hour raise so probably around 18-20 an hour now starting out. Pay is starting to get better in Arkansas but it does depend on where you are at

Brandy, where is this $36/hour job? I'm a nursing student and I really don't want to go through all the trouble of nursing school to get paid what I can get paid without the degree. If I go to school, I at least want a pay increase!

I'm a nursing student and I live in Little Rock. The starting pay for a new RN is $18-$24 dollars with shift diff, loan pay offs, and immediate benefits. The best hospitals to me are Babtist and Children's. I have seen some advertising saying that if you work agency you can make about $30-$36 an hour.
