They are state funded for impoverished people (but you only have to make less than $25/hr to get the funding)- its credited up front & there is no contract with anyone except that they call you like once a month to check on you & see how schools going..
Could you give more info about this friendly house? Do you have 2 go to a certain school to get the 4K?

Thanks for letting me know, that certainly makes a huge change in my plans. Please let me know whatever else you find out. Thanks!

How much less would LPN's make compared to RN's ? What schools offer LPN to BSN programs and how long would it take to get the BSN ?
I haven't really done much research on Lpn's because I am heading towards being a RN, but from what I have hear there aren't many jobs for LPNs in hospitals. For instance I work for Banner and there are currently only 4 positions posted, as compared to a zillion RN positions. I have heard that a lot of LPNs work in long term care facilities, and I am not sure where else. I have also heard the pay is significantly higher when you work in long term care as well. The highest I've heard was $26/hr. The range Banner has posted is $17.06-27.26. The range for Rns is $25.47-40.69. The only program that I have heard of so far that offers LPN to BSN is Univ. of Phoenix, and I think that is supposed to take 2 years to complete.

The reason Im going to MSC is to work as an LPN at the Long Term Facility I currently work at (starting pay for LPNS is usually about $18-19) & go directly from block 2 (last block of LPN) to block 3 (RN), so I am still going for my RN, just getting my LPN this way is alot quicker. The main positions for LPNs are mostly in Skilled Nursing Facilities, but you can occasionally find positions at hospitals with slightly lower pay..

Is anyone else applying to MSC for August?
Im in the process, and in the beginning, I was so excited I got in & I dont have to wait 2 years like everyone else, but the administration is driving me to insanity!!
They switched computer systems & completely LOST my file & my loan application!! AAHHHH
Just wanted to see if there was anyone else...

Im in the August start date. Not sure if I will be attending though! The folks in student services are not always "together". But, I cannot possibly imagine what their workload is like so Im not judging. I just know I only ask for the same person and I call back if I cannot get him. Or, I just drive down there! I thought August was full though.....
Good Luck!

Yeah, I know a few people who have graduated from there
The only complaints they have are the long days (8-3)
They all say the education is much better than the administration.
August is full- my sisters still waiting to see if anyone drops out to get in, but I already got in; got my letter a couple months ago..
