Re: GCC CNA Program

Are you taking it at GCC? I would loose my mind if I have to lose one semester over CNA course.

It's 8 weeks. I missed the cut off date to apply to the LPN program at Gateway for the fall semester so it didn't matter when I got it done. Hopefully it's not so bad. I do wonder why it's so long compared to other programs but it was cheapest and I got financial aid to cover so you take what you can get. How are things going for you?

Re: GCC CNA Program

I missed the date too ( It's not so bad if it is 8 wks only.
Otherwise, things are going great. I am done with my BIO202, ENG101 and my CNA. I only have those two HCC classes left but these are really easy. I will be taking CHM130 during summer 1.

Yup only 8 weeks 2-3 days a week!
That's great that you basically have everything done. Chm 130 over summer I wanted too but Chm just isn't my strong suit and I think I need a full semester.

Re: GCC CNA Program

It's not my strong suit either, but so wasn't MAT and I got A. I'll try and see how it goes. I will probably take a few days off of work on testing days.

Re: GCC CNA Program

I was considering doing my CNA through Gateway, but one semester does seem like a long time for that! I would love to take it through one of these schools that only have it for 3-5 weeks. However, I do like the schedule of the CNA at gateway. It's like 2 days a week for 3-4 hours and then your clinical on Sat. or Sun. Im not sure which way to go. I'd like to try and get into the LPN at gateway in the spring of 2009. Any thoughts?

I go T and Th from 7-1 for the first 3 weeks and the remaining 5 are 630-1 T-W-TH for labs and clinicals. I would pick a cna program as soon a possible because once they start accepting applications at gateway for that lpn program seats are going to go fast as they dont have many for "regular " people. I think most seats go to company sponsored students. I was lucky to get into glendale's cna program. I would also love to go to these places that have a program that's only 2-3 weeks too but I just can't afford the type of money they charge. I got financial aid for this so that was another benefit.
