Looks to me like it's a separate application process. Don't know what the wait list is like for it, but for those of you on the waitlist for the RN program, it might not hurt to apply here too. You qualify.

Maricopa skills center also had a LPN program. 14 months in duration, hours are from 8:30am-1:30pm. There is no CNA requirement if I am correct. I spoke with them and they said it was no longer a Pre-req. Im not sure of the cost as they will not give info over the phone. You have to attend an information session for all info. I am going to take this route and then continue my Pre-req's as I work as an LPN. This will be a better way for me and my family.

Actually you DO have to have your CNA for the LPN program. That was only eliminated for the RN programs. There is no wait list for the LPN program at Gateway or at Maricopa Skills Center. I'm taking my CNA class in January and then applying for the LPN program at Gateway in June, for their August program.

So there is NO (!!!!) wait list for the LPN program at Gateway!! I will also have my CNA done Spring Semester then apply in March. Are you planning on going on to get your RN?

CNA is a pre-req for Gateway's LPN program but NOT for the Maricopa Skill Center. There isn't a waiting list for either but you might wait a semester or two to get into the Skill Center Program. For instance, I just gave in my application for the LPN program at the Maricopa Skill Center and the next available class in March/April is full and their next opening is August which I will most likely get into. The Skill Center I believe costs more than Gateway but financial aid is available. Hope this helps.
