If you are already gone from there, and all the best teachers (the ones you say didn't give you any education and you had to do it all yourself) have left...how would you know how good the teachers are that are there now?

Wow. I'm impressed. It sounds to me like you had personality conflicts in the school which make you bad-talk it. It happens in every job you have - in every environment there will be people who aren't happy no matter what.

As for blaming it all on 'personality conflicts' instead of teachers...well, like I've said before, I think the bad NCLEX pass rate on EBSN speaks for itself. And I think it's clear that the school is in distress.

I am glad you had a good experience at U of P but what do you base your opinion on with one school being better than the other when you attended only U of P? I am currently going to Grand Canyon for my RN to BSN and find the courses very applicable to real life nursing. The instructors are great facilitators of learning with amazing credentials. I think I am getting a fantastic education also.

i personally know 4 people who didn't. and 6 that didn't pass of the original 24.

Actually, I had the third highest grade in my class and received the Nursing Chair Award of Excellence, the top award the school offers. I've worked in the healthcare field for over 8 years and in many different areas... from SICU to med-surg, to postpartum and labor and delivery and now in peds. I work at MIHS which is a really tough place to work, but rewarding. I am extremely good at getting along with other people, even those often considered "difficult", and can get along with pretty much anyone who isn't out to backstab you no matter what you do. Those people, no one can get along with.

As to how I know? I keep my ear to the ground and have my sources. I have first hand experience with some of the teachers who are still there.

Anyone considering going to that school should seriously reconsider.

Where do you think Grand Canyon got thier RN to BSN program from, they looked at U o P and used thier program as a templet. The U o P has been around since 1976 and has used the same templet for thier courses. Im currently at U o P in thier LPN to BSN program, so I know first hand what its like. At work MMC I have many co workers who are at Grand Canyon working on tier RN to BSN. Is interesting to see that they are workong on the some of the same things I am. The price is about the same.

I was told that this school is on probation right now with the state board b/c of really bad NCLEX scores. I'm not sure how reliable it is. I went there though and really didn't like the area, and location. I'm sure there are some great people there but I just didn't like the vibe... it really was the area and knowing about the NCLEX scores for me. I am going to look at Everest.

Does anybody with children go to Ethel Bauer? How is the daycare and what do you do on clinical days? I have two kids, one is 2.5 and the other will be starting Kindergarten in the fall. Anybody in any nursing program with children? How are you able to get the program, any tips?

The daycare is horrible. Many of my friends had to go pick up their kids who were not watched properly and they got bitten or hit. In addition, you cannot use the daycare when you are in clinicals, only when you are in class onsite.

I wouldn't put my dog in that daycare. I like my dog.

I have not heard good (or even OK) feedback about the daycare. I know of folks who have their children in private daycare despite the "free" care offered. I agree with the last poster.
