Re: Best area's of Tucson

Hi,
Just saw you were going to work at St Mary's Hospital. My career started on the 3100 unit, cardiac/telemetry/neuro. I don't know if it still the same these days, was a great place to work. Left and moved to NC in 1998.

As far as the best living areas, the northern side of Tucscon was better as far as crime and things. I used to live not far from St Mary's off of Speedway. It was OK, did have a drive by near my house, that was one of the main reasons why I left, I had small children at the time, got scared.

I wish you the very best. I really loved working there!!!

Re: Best area's of Tucson

Congrats on your new job! I'll be taking a travel assignment in Tucson starting on the 18th of this month, though not at St Mary's. I did grow up there, though, and I agree with wubbakat that the best areas are the northwestern to northeastern areas. Central is OK, just not south of Speedway. St Mary's is on the West side of town, so if you go too far East, you'll have quite a drive. Fortunately, there are thousands of apartment complexes all over those areas. Try Rent.com, I think you can search by area. Good luck! Hope you enjoy Tucson! I know I will.

Go as far north from the hospital as you can, staying within a reasonable commute time.

Yes, definately do not try to live that close to St Mary's!
I live on the far east side and had 2 semesters of clinicals at SMH, and the drive wasn't that bad.
