I just found out about the shift. Has anyone tried it? Would you recommend it for a new grad? I'm thinking I would rather work 16hr sat/sun than 10hr for 4 days a week. That only leaves 3 days off a week! The VA hospital I'm thinking of working at requires 40/hrs a week to be considered full time.

If it were an option for me I would take the 2 Sat & Sun 16 hr shifts. But maybe that's just me.

Our hospital's Baylor program is 3-12 hr shifts: Fri, Sat, & Sun. I don't have any idea what the increase in pay is but there's a waiting list for the program. I'd do it if I could do Thurs, Fri, Sat. I want my Sundays off. Weekends tend to be slower and more low-key so it's kinda nice.

Hmm, that's what I was hoping to do - Fri, Sat & Sun nights. What hospital do you work in if you don't mind me asking. If you don't want to say on here that's fine.

As a new grad, I'd never endorse 16 hour shifts! Eeks...

I did Baylor as a tech for years. It was Sat/Sun 12hr shifts. Paid for 36hrs, full time PTO, full time bennies, and full tuition reimbursement.

Now that I'd recommend!

I work for Phoenix Children's. Great place to work and the kids are AWESOME!
