Question Any AZ monitor techs?

I'm taking a class on Cardiac arrythmias (disrythmias) and would like to work part time as one when the class finishes. Are there any monitor techs out there? What is the job like? Will AZ hospitals hire me w/o monitor experience (I work as an ED tech now)? Thanks in advance.

Hi Crazy...funny you should post that...I'm sitting in front of monitors tonight myself, albeit not in AZ but in another hot dry part of the country...Texas.
I am sure that you should be able to find work out there as a monitor tech!! And if you're working as an ED tech right now...that's awesome! That makes you even more marketable. Do your best in that class and if you have any questions about strips or reading/whatever...give me a holler!

Re: Any AZ monitor techs?

I used to sit monitors as part of my PCT job. You rotated out, so one night I would work the floor, another night, I'd sit monitors. Let me tell you that experience was invaluable! I'm in a critical care course now, and soooooooooooo many people are having soooooooooooo many problems interpretating EKGs. You will not regret it!
