Re: Help Me Please!

Roxy,

I moved your thread to the Alabama Forum for the most responses specific to your region. The CNA Forum is great for general questions about CNA education and practice, but the state forums are better for information relevant to a certain city, program or facility. Good luck to you!

Re: Help Me Please!

I lived in that area about 20 yrs ago, so I wouldn't know any specifics. But in general, the places to look for a CNA course (it's what I did when I got to where I live now) is to call the school districts. CNA, and sometimes LPN programs are usually found in Adult School offerings. You can also find CNA courses, sometimes in the community colleges. Another place to look: call all the long term care facilities. They usually teach the CNA course for free, but expect you to go to work for them after you finish. Another avenue, although not as prevalent, is the private schools. Most of them don't offer CNA anymore, in favor of medical asst courses. Hope this helps. Good luck.

Check out this site

It is in Montgomery, but maybe they have info about a class closer to or in Birmingham.
