Mods, can we get a sticky?


In preparation for getting a BSN I am trying to gather information regarding online BSN programs. If you have links to what you feel is an affordable , online, no residency requirement program, please post 'em here.

One program that I came across was with Thomas Edison State College. Does anyone have any information regarding their program? I was hoping to find someone that has first hand (or second hand ) experience with the TESC RN to BSN program as it seems to be an affordable option, which, of course, is always a bonus. From reading the catalog on their site it appears that you can use some of the EC exams to satisfy the upper level nursing courses.

The TESC program looks pretty decent but I am looking for some feedback to any online RN to BSN program. If anyone has links to what they feel is an affordable online RN/BSN program please post the link here.

Good Idea!

Here is one I have had my eye on for a little while. It's online, affordable ($187 per credit hour), NLN approved, and clinicals are done in the students local area. From what I understand the clinical is 120 hours with an advance practice nurse of the student's choice. (update) No Alabama License Required for Admission.

I'm attending Florida Hospital College of Nursing and we have students from all over. We all pay the same tuition. It's about $220/hr. No clinicals except at the end you have to follow a manager/supervisor around. 100% online.

It's NLN approved.

I looked at South Alabama's program and it looks pretty good. I really want to finish the BSN in one year rather than two. The only thing is all those history requirements and that you have to have an Alabama license. I wonder if you have to have a RN license in whatever state an online program is based in?

Although you stated affordable, I did the University of Phoenix online BSN and now the MSN and I find it totally doable. I'm going from an ADN to BSN to MSN in 30 months.

Yes, affordable is important but it's great to have a thread with links and info to any online RN/BSN program. I actually considered Drexels RN-MSN program but am taking a hard look at TESC for the BSN first.

I have also considered Rush's program because not only is it online, but it offers an MSN component.

It is a bit more expensive at $486 per credit hour at the undergrad level and $529 at the grad level. Clinicals are completed in the students local area.

Mona,

Have you figured out what the RN to BSN will cost through TESC...The tuition calculation is confusing...could not figure out what the ballpark cost would be.

It is confusing. Here is a link to the tuition/fees page but I think that due to the fact that each individual is bringing in a variety of credits that it is difficult to determine what the total cost will be. I did make a couple calls to TESC but they are a little tight with the information. Apparently the advising is for enrolled students only.
