To all recent CPNE "PASSERS", WOOOO HOOOO Congrats! :hatparty: To all of you future CPNE'ers, hang in there and best wishes! I am a frequent visitor to the Distance Learning discussions because I am upgrading my ASN to a BSN then MSN over the next couple of years. Man, I get so so excited reading about you guys antcipating and then passing the CPNE! I graduated in 2000, the final Regent's College class before it changed to Excelsior. When I tell you my life changed for the better, I don't just mean the financial upgrade from LPN to RN. I mean the incredible opportunities I have now! (OK, th financial upgrade does help .) Anyway, just think of me as your Fairy Godmother and prayer buddy in Louisiana. I enjoy learning and I get excited to be around such wonderful people just looking for the opportunity to show they can shine. Big hugs to all my fellow students and don't give up the dream.

Congradulations on passing the first time. Do you know where the best testing site is? Im studying long and hard for the cpne right now in California. What advise can you give me about workshops? How long did you study for it? I study everyday.

Hi- I hear good things about Racine & Long Beach. I really liked SRMC in Atlanta a lot. I didn't do any workshops, so I can't advise on those- there are others here who can give you good info on them, though. I studied intensely, every day for 3 months. PM me your email addy, and I'll send you my study materials for the CPNE- they were very helpful in my passing. When are you scheduled to take it?

Use that worry and stress as motivation. Use this as a test against yourself...... a big ol' challenge. As many things that you can turn into positives the better off you will be. Just remember that LOTS of people pass. Lots and lots.

PJ, I emailed you the files. Let us know if you have any questions, and remember that it's very normal to have anxiety when you first start going over the CPNE study manual. It's not as overwhelming as it first appears, I promise. The first step in studying for the CPNE is to go over that study manual cover-to-cover (just read through it and do the questions in it). Also get the video/workbook- it's pretty helpful, too. After you go through the manual, go back through the critical elements and write your mnemonics down (I sent you a list of the ones I used- they're shorter than the ones listed on the EPN, and easier to remember). Go ahead and get your Carpenito's now- so you can become as familiar as possible with it. I sent you a file that has info on how to use it. There's also a Carpenito's workbook you can buy if you're really worried about care planning.

Let us know what you need help with the most, and we'll do our best to clear some things up for you. If you have any questions, ask, ask, ask.

You know I am trying to be positive and am an over studier. I know 4 people that went to Phoenix that failed, and one of them for the 2 time. So Im thinking maybe thats not a good place. Then I was told by an ex EC student not to go to Long Beach. She passed for the first time in San Diego. I have already sent my papers in to San Diego but Racine or Madison is sounding better all the time. I have decided that if I fail I will pick myself up and do the 3 times if I have to, money or no money. Lgflamini sent me some dynamite study material for which I am so grateful. Im worried about care plans because I know you don't have a lot of time in CPNE to write them.
