Just wondering. I am trying to add up the costs. I hear from some it should take $5000, and for others $7000, and for yet some others $12000! Well, what is it??? What did it average those of you that finished the program?

It depends on how many classes you need. I only needed the 7 NC tests and the CPNE, I spent about $5000. If you need general ed classes it will cost more. If you go to EC's website there is a form titled--How much will a nursing degree cost--that you can use to estimate your cost.

It cost me about 8000.00 I have bought most all the books needed, taken workshops, took all the nc theory test, and just recently paid for my upcoming cpne including air, hotel ect. it might even be more like 9000.oo

about 9000.oo total and that includes just paying for my upcoming cpne in april. Includes airfare, hotel, ect.

Approx $7,500 and that was not purchasing any for-profit study guides. I paid as I went along. The hardest to swallow was the CPNE. It was $1,500 back then, how much is it now?

App 7000$ Not including airfare, gas, hotels, food. And I did my CPNE in 1998.........

Remember you can deduct all the expense's from your taxes.

$6500 for me, but I got it all reimbursed from my employer as I spent it.

Can you?? I was wondering since they (Excelsior) do not qualify for federal aid if you could deduct those expenses on your taxes. I would love to know if anyone knows this for sure. Thank you so much!

Excelsior is not eligible for Title IV funds, but there is good news! If you are in NYS you can get a TAP award to help defray the cost. You will get reimbursed between $500 and $800 after you pass so many tests and have a verifiable GPA from Excelsior. BTW, has anyone successfully received a scholarship from Excelsior? I am looking to apply to one.
