There aren't many I can take, but I just ordered the book for the nursing management exam. And I'll need a science or math, so I'm trying to decide which to take.

i do, too...ok, this is just hearsay, but the statistics class (they say) is a killer! also, if you plan on going back after that to take your masters, there are programs that won't accept a BSN from EC...? isn't that crazy?

I don't know why they are fully accredited and no different than any other online program. Let me back up I know that they do not offer all nursing classes online and you must self pace some classes , unless things have changed in the last several months. However, after I have been looking around for Masters programs and such this type of thing is quite common.

Good thinking! The management exam isn't bad at all.

Regarding statistics, if you're at all comfortable with stats/math or have had prior exposure to it, I'd consider getting a textbook and registering for the exam. Multiple sources have commented to me about a lack of instructor support/presence in the online stats class.

Tiffany, I can't imagine why you'd WANT to take an upper level course before being CPNE-ready. Seriously. Why waste time when you need to be moving towards the RN?

As to statistics - I am a math don't-be. I would, were there a classroom available, take more, but there is no way I could do it on my own. I do NOT look at an equation and think, "Well, of course!" I stare at it blankly and freeze. It isn't math anxiety, I just don't see it. When someone (like a teacher) points it out to me I'm fine, but I don't have the mind for it.

I think I'm going to CLEP out of chemistry.



I'm doing the RN-MSN in clinical informatics at by the time I'm done I'll be close to 60. I'm not too worried about other schools.

One nice thing about living where I do is that we are very rural and a lot of people use distance learning. It's viewed as an advantage, not a less-than colution.
