I graduated From Excelsior back when it was Regents..1994! I was an LVN for 5 years prior to that. I worked OB for a lot of years, but the last 4 years I have been teaching in an LVN program-the same one I went to in 1988! I love it and begin working on my MSN through Walden in Oct.
Yes,I agree it is a great thread also. Could it get a sticky, for more visibility. It would also help to foster more participation from the Excelsior grads.Thank all of you for the encouragement, for those of us who are walking in your shadow,at this time.
Hi all, I graduated from EC in Jan 2007. I'm working in OB postpartum for 6 weeks and then on to L/D for orientation. (started on September 1st). Up until Sept. I was working in an OB/GYN clinic as a Licensed Midwife (not an RN). The hospital scene is very new to me with lots to learn, but they sure do seem to want to push me through QUICKLY. I was hired by the first hospital that I sent my resume to and it is 5 minutes from my home. EC rocks!!
Graduated July 2007 with ASN, work Flex Pool (all floors...Tele, PCU, ICU, Pedi, etc), was a LPN for 10 years.
I am now enrolled in the RN-MSN program at Excelsior College.....
