I think it is a brqand new program. I looked into Drexel, but I think I am going w/ St. Louis University's online program if I get accepted. No GRE req. either.

Is the SLUniv program 100 % online? I am going crazy researching all the different programs...want it to be all online, accredited, affordable (doesn't have to be the cheapest), etc. What other programs did you like at, and why did you go with SLU? Thanks :-) MoNurse

There is one visit required to St. Louis near the end of the program they tell me. I chose it because it is online and I can specialize in perinatal nursing. I also looked at going the nurse educator route. The schools I know which are completely online w/ no campus visit required for nurse educator are Mansfield U. in PA. and the U. of Wyoming. Both are pretty reasonable cost- wise, esp. WY. It's cheaper than a lot of community colleges.

Hello,

Has anyone attended drexel for the online program? If so, please share some information about the program. I know it cost alot of money to attend. For example it is almost $6.000 for a six credit course...a lot of money for a course and no books. I hate to see the price for the books. about 12,000......lol. I have no ideal what the cost of books are and the type of books we need for the courses.

Well, have a great evening and when you are able to give me a shout, please do so.

Thankds,

Re: Drexel Online

I am starting the RN-MSN program in the fall. The way it works is you work on your BSN, and can take master's level courses to make up some of the elective courses, so you are kinda blending the BSN into the MSN. It's online, and it looks like for the BSN portion there is one course that has a clinical component, you find your own site and preceptor within the area. It is quite costly, though, but if your are working in the tri-state area, look and see if your employer is a affliate partner, they may be and that will get you 25% off tuition, which ends up at $330 a credit for undergrad courses(masters level are more). I'm crunching numbers as we speak to figure out how much to borrow. Oh, the BSN online program also runs with 10 week quarters instead of semester, so you can get done faster. So I can get in four quarters in one year by going Fall, Winter, Spring, and Summer quarters. (cha-ching)

I would love to talk with anyone else going to Drexel online, or anyone who had completed it and has advice.

Re: Drexel Online

I just applied to Drexel Online RN -> MSN. I'm bumping this thread up to see if you all have any updates. Please share. Is it hard to get into? I have good grades but I just graduated with ASN and have no nursing work experience. I will get a job in September, right now we are moving our family up to New Jersey. Previous degree (Accounting) and lots of work experience there. The thing that's attracting me to Drexel is that I can do this fairly quickly -- looks like in 3 years. I'll be broke, but oh well.
