is it worth still bothering

as you may remeber i was started on the process of moving to the states but then came the massive stumbling block of not being able to get my transcripts from my uni or anywhere, so i had kind of come to the conclusion it wasn't happening. Now all of a sudden my transcripts have appeared and I'm undecided wether to start again or just not bother with the current visa problems. I was already with an agency but had said to them that unless i could get decent transcripts i wouldn't continue as what i had the agency were usure if they would pass the visa screen, now i have what seems to be a full transcript with breakdown of hours etc.

I still have a desire to move to the states and nurse there but I'm not sure i want to put my life on hold for so many years if nothing gets resolved with regards to retrogression.

also i know that without going through cgfns i will never know but my transcript has that i have only done 15 hours theory in maternity, and 30 hours theory in paediatrics, but i have done 150 hours clinical maternity and 300 hours paediatric clinical so not sure if they would think that sufficient.

thanks everyone

Only you can decide whether it is worth doing or not, may be worth doing a list of pro and cons and see what pops out of the list. You do not need an agency to go through the process and will have more control going it alone. There is no telling if retrogression is going to last and you can always start the process and decide later whether you want to look for an employer and continue

Good luck in whatever you decide

If the university has made a mistake on your transcript then that will need resolving because those hours are not sufficient. My uni made a similar mistake but I went in person & got it corrected. As an aside my maternity & paed hours were almost identical to your proper ones & that was plenty!

As for the rest SD is right - as usual! Only you can decide what's best for you & yours. You may even consider another country instead - there are other options - but you need to decide for yourself. If you want it - it's worth it.

Also heed what SD said about not using an agency - it's easier than you think!

Keep us posted xxx

If you still feel the urge to come over here to nurse then go for it....it is such a long hard journey to get here - stressful beyond belief at times but as Madwife says it is sooo worth it when you get here.....

if you have a problem with your transcript then you need to get it sorted.....I am a firm believer things happen for a reason....if your transcript has suddenly turned up - what is it telling you???!!!!!!

We all had some stumbling blocks along the way to getting here but this is why there are forums like this with friends on here to help you on the way and give you the support when you need it.....

Good Luck Suzanne with whatever you decide to do...do what you think is best for you and the family.Give us a shout if you need any help

I agree we have had a terrible time with Retrogression we have wanted to give up on numerous occasions hopefully now my PD is current we will be able to start our new life soon. What i think has kept us going is the fear that if we give up we will always regret it, but it is definately an individual decision
