You need to meet all requirements with the NMC and that will not give you a work permit. But currently with immigration rules it is very hard to get a work permit if you are not from the EU. Hospitals are commenting if outside the EU they will not unless no other candidates come forward for the job concider applicants outside the EU and as a new grad you will not meet this criteria and no jobs or very few jobs for new grads qualifying now in the UK.

yes I think it will be very hard for you to find an employer as immigration requires employers to first look within the UK then EU before elsewhere in the world. If you check out this link at nhs jobs and then look at their requirements you will usually see comment about work permit http://www.jobs.nhs.uk/

you have to go through NVC first as they are the UK nursing governing body and they need to make sure your training matches UK training. As said previously if not from the EU you are going to find it hard to get a job due to immigration rules and if you look at the link I gave there is a comment about not helping with work permits if one is required. Also lots of nurses looking for work who already live in the UK

as a recently qualified nurse you will not get a work permit in the UK at present if you aren't an EU citizen or perhaps the spouse of someone coming into the UK working in a demand area of employment...

the uk is n't throwing people out who have work permits but it isn't bringing any more in, as the workforce planning people assumed that the numbers and length of stay of many of the immigrant Nurses i nthe uk would be smaller ... leading to a shortage of entry level vacancies for UK and EU citizens

it doesn't matter to whom you apply and whethet you do if before or after the nMC has made a decision the IND will NOT grant you a work permit unless you are a highly specialist preactitioner

It may be worth mentioning that even if you get a work permit via a hospital you will still have to meet the NMC requirments even as a highly specialsit practitioner to register to practice as a nurse
