Question miniPAT

I've just completed my first on line miniPAT, for our latest lot of house officers. I've never done them on line before. In the past they've been quickly scribbled dots on the forms as the docs are leaving.

It seems much harder to fill in the online form. Some how the questions seemed much more judgemental (and permenent). Has any one else found this?

It just seems strange filling in this assessment form today on my day off when I could be working with the doc in question tommorrow. But at least the doctors have to be a bit more organised now.

It seems harder to make negative comments, especially how my trusts page is set up! I just wondered if anyone else had noticed, or if we would begin to see a new trend of failure to fail... but this time for the medics

Re: miniPAT

Hi Whisper. I quite like the forms but have done them for the last few groups of docs we had through. ALthough I think in wales ours are called TAB forms.

Re: miniPAT

ok, stop americanising our language, not everyone knows what your abreviations mean, even sharrie's welsh version is not known to me and I lived there for long enough. please explain so that we can all share the information.

Re: miniPAT

Sorry Cariad, I had to look up what they were short for as well

Mini Peer assessment tool (miniPAT) or the Team Assessment behaviour (TAB)

Tools used in the Foundation Programme, designed to collate views from a range of coworkers for 360° assessment. You should find out which tool your Foundation School is using.

Re: miniPAT

Sorry for the confusion, I thought the PAT sytem (Peer assessment Tool) was nation wide! I never thought of it as Americanising the English langauge. I thought the only variations were within Trust's website for the new online 'easier' forms!

Silver Dragon, I'm fine thanks for asking. Trying not to be so much of a lurker. Its scary to think I've been qualified for almost 4 years now, and contemplating completeing a critical care diploma after my trip to the US in October. Had my first free NHS hair cut on tuusday... but that is going off topic.

So back to forms, I guess I'd better just hope that they'll get better through repitition.

Re: miniPAT

thanks for the translations, I doubt very much that they use anything like that here, but americans use initials for everything.
even us, we are not nurses we are RNs...............
