Kick up the butt!

Can someone give me a much needed kick up the butt. I have had my NCLEX revision books for about 2 months now and I have not even picked them up. My CES application is ongoing and I need to be studying. For some reason I have lost motivation. HHEELLPPPP!! Or I am going to be working at McDonalds (which I did as a teenager so at least I have the expereince )

Motivational tips anyone??????

Get off your computer & this forum & GET WORKING!!!!!!!!

It's a b***** of an exam & you won't pass if you don't study!!!!!!! I'm guessing you trained in the UK so there's plenty of new stuff you're going to have to get your head around too so GET ON WITH IT NOW!!!!!!

How's that????

Re: Kick up the butt!

Or you could do what DH and I did just load of cd rom practise questions no studing from books just tried to do as many questond as I could - started with groups of twenty then review the after- built up to groups of thirty and twice a week I did group of fifty- I was well prept for the exam and had no trouble passing it using this method- bearing in mind that I was a midwife and had no done general nursing for 10 years and DH was in senior management and had touched a patient in 10yrs - we both passed first time so plug in computer and start with a few questions.

i did that too, it worked for me i passed in 75 questions in under an hour and a half, i never really looked much at the books except for when i got questions wrong, i looked up the answers and rationale behind them

Re: Kick up the butt!

I think thats part of the problem. I qualified 10 years ago and i feel that alot this stuff I just don't remember and so I just feel I have a mountain to climb . I know I can study as i just completed my BSC while I was in the UK but I just find it difficult to get started. I am not naturally studious....I am and always have been a lazy student!
Anyway, you will be pleased to hear that ya'll have motivated mt to go and read the introduction to my Saunders NCLEX book....hey, its a start!!

Re: Kick up the butt!

Hi, I sat my NCLEX last week and I still feel crap! I always said I did not want to be sat in front of that computer in London thinking "I wish I'd have done more studying", anyway, last week I sat there thinking that very thing!! It's a horrid feeling. When have you scheduled your exam for? I'm still waiting for my results so I might be doing the damn thing again yet! I used the online Kaplan thing, I have to say it was very good, lots of practice questions and mock exams, I'm not the studious type either and find sitting reading books boring, so I did most of my studying on the computer. Good Luck!! Get moving!! Otherwise if I'm in Florida on my hols and see you I will have fries with that thanks!!
All the best, Janelola

Re: Kick up the butt!

I haven't scheduled my exam yet as I am still waiting for my ATT from the Florida BON so at least I do have time to study. I think I will use Kaplan nearer my exam date as I have heard good things about it and so its good to hear that you found it useful. Good luck on your results....fingers crossed for you and let us know how you have done!
I think i am going to head down the beach this afternoon with my books to study. Study and Tan....my new study regime !

how about..... If you don't start your studying will find and send the local NCLEX mob to your house and give you a bit of a run a round
