To all Nurses at Guy's and St. Thomas'

Just wanted to say, "thanks so much", for being so accomodating and gracious to the students of Wayne County Community College District, when we invaded your city and hospital. We had an awesome time and learned a LOT.

Thanks again,

Steph

What a lovely thread Steph, I don't work in London but what did you think about what you saw?

I thought the initiatives for 100% handwashing were excellent. Not only were staff involved, but patients and visitors as well. Your disposable curtains hit a chord with many of the students, we all know how nasty those things can get. I especially liked the fact that each Nursing student is given a mentor.
It's an exciting time to be a Nurse in the U.K. Your nurses have autonomy beyond what I could have imagined, so for a soon to be new grad it was wonderful.

That's really great, it is so nice to hear a positive opinion about UK nursing, hope you don't mind but I am going to quiz you now.

When you say we have more autonomy in what way, what did you see that was different from US nursing?
