I have started so many threads, and learned so much from everyones advice. I just have a few more questions. I am a new LVN. Ive worked in a hospital for a few months realized that wasnt the place for me.


I see so many nurses writting threads about traveling to this country and this country and working. I want to do that!!! I am young and I know I need the experience and my RN, right??

But this is my problem, I dont like hospitals! I tried it and did not like it at all, I prefer to work at clinics. So.. is it posible to travel to different countries and work if you only want to work in clinics?? Well im not completely shutting out other facilities, just dont like hospitals.

SO, Please you experienced nurses help me! I am so confused I dont know what direction to go in, and I want to make the best decision for my future. I have an interview next week for a clinic job,in "family medicine". Is that a good idea?? I do want to go on to get my RN though.

OK last question. Has anybody gone to another country to get their RN? Is that possible?? JUst a thought.

Whatever line of work you choose to follow, unfortunately you need to obtain your RN, and make sure it is recognised in Australia. Check our immigration site. Unless you choose to do your EN here in Australia. Like ENs in the US, LVN qualifications are not recognised here. That stinks, I know

Once you are an RN though, you should be able to do home nursing in the private health sector, visiting ppls homes to provide care. Or you can go to doctors surgeries. You may still need to have some hospital experience though depending on the organisation you choose to apply with, and the state you wish to work in.
