Prereq's grades vs nursing school grades
|
|
I was just wondering for those of you who have graduated was your nursing school grades comparable to your grades for prereq's?
I am still on my rereq's and I can't seem to get anything over a B in Chemistry. I'm happy with that for now but it got me wondering, if I can't make the hurdle from a B to an A and nursing school is much harder will I have a hard time? How did you do?
Hope this makes sense and it doesn't seem like I'm rambling.

I had a 4.0 in pre-reqs and 3.55 nursing GPA. It is tough to get all A's in clinical courses. Nutrition, Pharm, Patho, etc... A's are attainable.

A's and a few B's in pre-req and still the same in nursing school. I've made more A's than B's in nursing school, no C's. Last semester I made 3 A's and 1 B.
I think what works for me is I know *how* I learn which I think is important (I'm auditory so if I listen in class, I will remember everything the teacher says; I'm also hands on learner but I need to know the theory behind what I am doing for it to make sense for me). I also don't think nursing school is hard, just the amount of stuff that you have to learn and do can get overwhelming if your not organized and prioritize your studies.
But whatever, grades are not the real world. Some people (like me!) do try to maintain a higher GPA because of graduate school (I want to go to NP or PA school) and some people are perfectly content and happy to be a bedside RN forever and passing is fine. Real nursing comes after school.

I always get 90-91%'s in everything. In pre-reqs that was an A--nursing school that is a high B.

I had a 4.0 in prereq's... but graduated with 3.4 GPA. The grading scale for nursing was brutal!

I got an A in Micro; Physio; Anatomy; Oranic, inorganic, and bio chem. Last year was my first year of nursing school. I only got one solid "A" the rest were A- and B+ and Bs. Nothing under a B. I work for those grades, they were a lot harder to get than the "As" in my pre-requs.
