Kaplan vs. ATI

Do any of you have feelings about which prep course is better?

Re: Kaplan vs. ATI

From what I understand ATI is for content, Kaplan for test strategy. I have the ATI series and actually prefer Saunders for content. The ATI tests are ridiculously hard and make you feel super dumb. I've been told that Kaplan more accurately reflects the level of the test questions. Our school also made us get Medspub. I will probably buy a Kaplan book too. Most of my friends who have graduated and tested recently swear by Kaplan.

Re: Kaplan vs. ATI

I want to say good luck to you with your studying for the NCLEX. I used ATI. ATI has a lot of content and it will seem tedious to do assessments each week. Sometimes the ATI questions were very hard. I would also recommend as a study guide ****Saunder's Review Book****. This is a must. Truthfully, some of the ATI content was not indepth enough to cover their assessments. I used a Kaplan review book. I did not pay for a class. The book helps with answering some questions. I would also recommend a book by Mosby: Prioritization, Delegation, and Assignment. I completed this book 1 week before the NCLEX. This helped me the most. I passed dthe NCLEX with 75 questions. Good Luck to you!

Re: Kaplan vs. ATI

One more thing......personally I found that the ATI assessments questions were more difficult than what was on the NCLEX.

Boy are you right about that. I did pretty well on the ATI tests in school but many of my fellow students struggled. Now that I am out of school, I am having a rough time with ATI. I've switched to Saunders completely now.

I truly hope you are right about that. ATI kills me.

Re: Kaplan vs. ATI

My school uses the ATI tests and we have to pass the test for the content area that we are studying. We have 2 "free" attempts and a third attempt that we have to pay for if we don't pass the first two. If we fail the 3 ATI's then we fail that course.
I thought the ATI's were harder than state boards for PN.

Re: Kaplan vs. ATI

I didn't like ATI at all. Honestly, I thought it was a huge waste of money. I used Saunders and Mosby's Prioritization & Delegation. They were the most helpful of all the review books I owned.

Re: Kaplan vs. ATI

I used the Kaplan for my HESI and it helped alot. I use saunders to study out of for my exams. Personally I do not like ATI.
