I was watching a movie the other day while hooked up for 2 hours to an apheresis machine donating platelets and thought of this as a good poll topic.
Are you happy with your life so far? Happy enough? Unhappy? Tell us, and tell us why....

Happiness, as someone said, is a choice. It's not what life hands you, but it's how you choose to handle it. I've chosen to be happy and for the most part, I am. There are a few bumps in my road right now, but I have a nice life.

I don't want for anything necessary. There are times I wish I had things, like a car. But it will not change my overall happiness. My happiness is affected by what happens to various parts of my life, so its pretty hard to make such a broad statement accurately

There are occasions when I am happy. Most of the time I am content ... and then there are times when I could scream and run away from it all - these are usually to do with my daughter.

I am happy with my life right now. This will all sound so cliche' but its true for me. I am in good health as is my family. I am happily married to the man of my dreams, he is a good man, husband and father. I have two beautiful, smart, happy, well-adjusted, healthy daughters. I have a nice roof over my head, a reliable car to drive, and enough saving that should something terrible happen we'll be ok. I have a very secure job that I enjoy doing. In 4 months I graduate from LPN school and then I start again with the bridge to RN. I have friends who'd do anything for me and my family as I would theirs. My family rally around in times of need, and are not just my family but my CHOSEN friends. At this point there is nothing I've dreamed of that I don't have.
My life as it is could turn on a dime, I know that. I know that I could be down and out. I think thats why I am happy with my life as it is. I have been on that down and out side and thankfully with the support of my friends and family was able to pull myself out of it and get where I am today.

I've turned into a happy person. Not because of my life circumstances, but because there's something deep inside of my spirit that no outside circumstance can disrupt.
Of course, having a great husband, job, family -- all that helps a lot. And I won't deny it, it doesn't hurt that we have food, clothing, shelter, good health, and money.
Yeah, I'm a pretty happy person at this point in my life.

I am happy for the most part. I try to deal with what is thrown my way. Times I feel it is too much thrown at me to deal with, and times I thank God for the security at the time. I am thankful for my loving, devoted dh, you all here on AN, and my kids.
Moving to a new state has proven to be a bit of a big challenge but we are starting to come up for air and I truly believe that this was the best move for us to make as a family.

Yes, I can say that I'm a happy woman. It has taken me nearly half a century to arrive at this juncture, but far better late than never.
Life does have its trials, but it seems to me that these are often the best teachers..........besides, if we're not on at least a nodding acquaintance with sorrow, we can't appreciate the good times.
With my husband of 27 years, my four grown and near-grown children, three grandsons, enough material wealth to supply all of my needs and most of my wants, work that fulfills me and gives me purpose, and satisfying relationships---to say nothing of my connection with God and the natural world---I have found great peace and contentment. Yes, I am fortunate indeed!
