Re: which shift do you prefer working as a new RN?

I personally like nights, but it's not for everyone. It's taken me a long time to get used to sleeping in the day while I'm working then switching back to 'normal people' rhythym when I'm off.

Nights
Started when my daughter was a baby and now I prefer them as I don't have to see management too much.
Management - grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

Nights is where I learned my critical thinking, self-reliance and many of my technical skills due to there being less people to help you out on nights. The excellent teamwork and lack of management on nights are definite pluses for me. I am working nights as long as grad school allows, then going to per diem days.
