I wear street clothes at work (I work in learning disabilities) and both my present tattoo and the one Im about to get will be visible most times. Right now I have a band of elephants (not disney like!) around my left upper arm. Soon im off to have a kind of tribal butterfly between my shoulder blades.

I have FOUR at the present time A garfield on the right ankle, a tribal art arm band on my right upper arm, a cherry sitting on whip cream on my left side of my chest (ok boob), and a tribal art design with a butterfly on my lower back with my childrens name turned into an acronym "altomga" (I've got 3 so had to shorten it) My next one is going to be the medical symbol (caudecus?sp) with RN.
My husband thinks I am nuts, but oh well... I love them. My kids like them too, they think they are cool looking Even my 13yo isn't "embarrassed by them She evens gets me to show her friends.

As far as what they will look like when I am 80? Well, I just tell people that at least I know the nurses having to wipe my butt will get a good laugh from me....they'll have to pull and put my skin back to figure out what it was! They'll probably think I was some sort of wild child when in fact I'm not, just like tattoo's!!

Mine don't show at work unless I have a regular short sleeve shirt on and my scrub jacket off. I work nights so sometimes my jacket is off. Mostly every family member/pt that has noticed my armband make a nice comment

"TATTOO'S ARE COOL" They just aren't everyone's cup of tea!

Melissa,

I love dolphins and have always wanted to get a dolphin tatoo (but have been too skeered.) I did pierce my belly button once, though.

Here's a pic of one I want to get. (in the small of my back)

Sounds like something I might want to do. I just posted a pic of one I had in mind. Do you have a pic of yours you can post?

I have Pooh on my right leg lower outer aspect. he sits on my sock cuff when I have shorts on. I love it ! It is hidden by my uniform pants. Everyone knows I have it. Since I am 56 it is quite a topic.

I have one tattoo. It is on my shoulder blade so nobody knows it's there unless I tell them.

Much more interesting would be the tattoo of a geriatric patient I once had: a womans name written vertically on his penis. It was not his wife's name, so I couldn't help but be curious who the mystery woman was.

Tattoos are SEXY

I love tattoos….I think they're too sexy! Both me & my husband have tons (well, I only have five now, but will be sleeved as soon as school is over….we can't wear long sleeve shirts).

Have a koi fish with a lotus on my left leg, a Celtic trinity on my right (we both have that one, it's our version of wedding rings since tattoos on your hands don't stay very well), a tribal band around my belly button, a huge koi in water with chrysanthemums on my upper left arm and a tribal band with oriental flames and a Japanese pearl on my left wrist. I usually try to keep them covered when I'm somewhere were people's opinions of me count, like work or places like that. People can be so hateful and judgmental….I actually had a lady come up to me in Dillard's one day and say, "You know your going to die with those on your body?" Well, yeah, I'd die without them on my body too, the tattoos aren't going to be the cause of my death.

Figured I'd get a 2 ½ inch wide watch before fall b/c of the whole long sleeved shirt thing at school (that's the only one that shows all the time). Have the rest of my left arm all drawn out (was going to have it outlined on the 26th of April, but found out about the deal at school). It's too cool. On the forearm is going to be a samurai looking geisha girl on a balcony in a valley with the mountains behind her and above her but below the koi is going to be another geisha but a softer one with wind bars breaking it up from the koi and the water. It turned out so good. Too bad it's not going to happen for another 2 years. That just makes me sick. I've got the itch for some more ink.

Not yet, but I just bought a digital camera today! I'll see if I can get one on here tomorrow.

I don't have any pics, but will take some. The pic of the one you want to get is almost like the ones around my ankle, but they're tail to nose in a band.
