Hello,
I have a question about the following prerequisites I need to take to get into the nursing program I have already taken Algebra I.

I need to take the following courses out of the three I only need to pick two.
I have to take Anatomy and Physiology or Biology one of the two.
I also have to take chemistry.

Does it matter what order I take these from a stand point of learning. For instance will I get screwed up if I take Biology then Chemistry that is my plan since those are the first available courses.

I have to take the courses on the weekend since I work weird hours during the week and my work is not flexible with the hours.
Can anyone let me know.

At my school we have to take Biology before we can even take A&P and there are two of these, I don't have to take Chemistry but I have to take Microbiology (ugh)

At my school,
as a pre-req for Anatomy, Physiology and Micro, you needed a lab science so I took my Chem class. To even be considered for admission to the nursing program, you had to have chem out of the way. I took chem first. Then (can you say crazy) I took both Anatomy and Microbiology along with English 100 while I was working fulltime. Anyway, got through that semester and then took my Physiology the next semester. My words to you are to get as many courses out of the way as possible before you get into your nursing program. Once you are in, you will have no time for anything else.

The response by kbstudent is very good. Get as much course work out of the way before starting Fundamentals of Nursing. You will be a much better thinker, writer and doer as you approach patients. The cognate courses also can be taken prior to begining Nursing courses (take like nutrition, sociology, psych,
gerontology taught outside of the nursing dept., economics, etc.)

To my thinking it would be ideal to take chem before A+P. However, if A+P is offered now and chem is not then I'd take the A+P. Chem first is idea but not necessary. I do not understand why you would have to take bio as well but if your school requires it there's not much to say.
Sounds like you have a choice between bio and A+P. Take the A+P if that is the case.
